The Royal Rajasthan on Wheels is said to be another gift by the makers of Palace of Wheels (Indian Railways) for luxury travelers who love to experience the history and culture of India. The train is modeled on the Palace on Wheels, and follows quite a similar route through Rajasthan with addition of two other significant heritage destinations of India including Khajuraho, Varanasi and Agra. The train and its coaches are tastefully designed, which fuses modern and ethnic look inspired by erstwhile princely states of Rajasthan along with heritage destinations including Agra, Varanasi and Khajuraho. Opulence coupled with traditional hospitality and modern facilities makes Royal Rajasthan on Wheels a fine luxury train travelling option in India. It ensures luxurious stay in 13 deluxe and a super deluxe saloon, each characterized by traditional interiors and state-of-the-art amenities.

Talking of the itinerary, the Royal Rajasthan of Wheels leaves on every Sunday from Safdarjung Railway Station for a 7 nights and 8 days journey. In fact, the itinerary is an upgraded version of the Palace on Wheels as three other heritage destinations, Agra, Varanasi and Khajuraho are added to it. Earlier, the main emphasis was on destinations like Jodhpur, Udaipur, Chittorgarh, Sawai Madhopur and Jaipur in Rajasthan in Rajasthan only, but with Royal Rajasthan on Wheels journey includes popular tourist attractions like Taj Mahal (in Agra), Holy Ghats & Temples (in Varanasi) and Temples of Khajuraho.
